Summary: Social justice, although constitutionally accepted. has nowhere been clearly defined Moreover, with time the focus of social justice has been on providing reservation to certain classes. The present volume contains a number of papers which attempt to explain the concept of social justice and unfold its scope. The volume does not stop there. It examines Ithe provisions of the Indian Constitution which directly or indirectly relate to social justice. Having done so the volume attempts to present the extent of implementation of the concept of social justice in its various aspects. Finally, the volume has papers which discuss the provisions and policies regarding reservation. Each paper has been written by an expert in the area many of whom have considerable years of experience in the field of social justice.
