| Summary, etc. | Social justice, although constitutionally accepted. has nowhere been clearly defined Moreover, with time the focus of social justice has been on providing reservation to certain classes. But for the Supreme Court's intervention, the states have, of recently, been vying with each other to increase the percentage of reservation for those communities which are already enjoying them as also trying to bring in some more communities within the ambit of reservation policy<br/>Indeed social justice is a term much more broader to include reservation only. The present volume contains a number of papers which attempt to explain the concept of social justice and unfold its scope. The volume does not stop there. It examines Ithe provisions of the Indian Constitution which directly or indirectly relate to social justice. Having done so the volume attempts to present the extent of implementation of the concept of social justice in its various aspects. Finally, the volume has papers which discuss the provisions and policies regarding reservation. Each paper has been written by an expert in the area many of whom have considerable years of experience in the field of social justice. |
