Mass communication as it is understood today is relatively a recent phenomenon in India. It essentially means dissemination of information, ideas and entertainment by the communication media. The media may be modern such as radio, TV, film, press, publication, advertising or traditional such as folk dance, drama and puppetry.
The mass communicator in India needs to know the basic role, the structure and functioning of different media operating in the country. The present work is a multi-media effort and is intended to cater to a much wider audience.
