The book "Economics of Manpower Planning" is a symposium of seven essays; five theoretical and the remaining two being case studies of Japan and Hungary. These essays are not co-ordinated, rather they are separate entities. In all these essays the subject of Manpower Planning has been discussed. Manpower Planning worked out in details, ramify into detailed controls that discourage innovative and adaptive behaviour. A democratic set-up is more sensitive to such a risk which inhibits economic growth in the ultimate analysis. This publication, if nothing else, can serve as a watchdog to such dangers.
