The author of this commentary on the Foreigners Act (Act 31 of 1946) has made an invaluable contribution to legal literature on a subject of living importance. In a single volume book of handy size he has managed to compress a mine of useful information relevant thereto with an illuminative commentary on its various sections. The synopsis appended to every section enables the reader to have an idea of its contents at a glance. The notes relating to every section are separately numbered and well-arranged. They contain marginal headings in bold letters so as to catch the eye. The book is replete with Indian case law, but the author has not hesitated to draw upon the English as well as American law wherever necessary to elucidate the various points discussed therein.
The general principles underlying this branch of law are stated succinctly and clearly, and the whole subject is put in an attractive and instructive form so as to be useful to the general reader as well as to a professional man.
