The Present Publication is based on original and Practical Research Work of the Author during the last three decades. The Scholar has made an Indepth study of Agriculture and Rural Develop ment in the Post-Independence period. The Unique feature of this publication is that the scholar has conducted Independent Surveys in Rural Areas and collected data in most of the cases from Primary sources. He has worked in Agricultural farms himself and stayed with Rural Population to see the truth with his own eyes and Published it without any bias and Prejudice.
Another Unique feature of this publication is that this is a comprehensive survey dealing with almost all the Problems of Agriculture and Rural Devel opment and Implications thereof.
Section I of this study deals with Agricultural Taxation-Inter Sectoral Linkages, Flow of Surplus for Financing Investment, Tax Incidence and Average Tax Rates in Agricultural and Non Agricultural Sectors, Terms of Trade between Agricultural and Non-Agricultural Sectors, Import of New Technology, Agricultural Tax Policy and the Rationale behind Taxing the Rural Sector.
Section II of this publication deals with Price Policy for oilseeds and vegetable oils. Section III evaluates contribution of Prices and changes in Technology on Agricultural production.
Section IV of this Volumes surveys Agricultural and Rural Development Programme and the practical experience of the Author as a Faculty Member dealing with Multilevel Planning at Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad.
A practical survey of "Training of Rural Youth for Self Employment Programme"brings into the Focus the hardfact that how these high cost programmes are being very poorly Implemented. Section V of the Study attempts an Indepth survey of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Post-Independence Period.
