Commentries on the representation of the people acts (43 of 1950 and 43 of 1951)

The last edition of this Book was published in the year 1984. In this inter vening period some amendment of far reaching importance in the Acts and Rules have come-up apart from a volume of case law. In revising this edition sufficient care has been taken to incorporate the amendments appropriately and case law has been discussed in detail.

The doctrine of judicial precedents which is followed in India, as in many other countries has a vary vast field and the task of finding a judicial precedent from the plethora of decided cases is not an easy task but the hunting process for the required cases have been simplified by presenting the commentary under Heads and sub-heads retaining the essence of law on each point and topic given in a masterly sequence identified through bold type Headings, sub-headings and marginal notes providing clue to pick-up easily the correct case law on the required point.

No matter how deep and exhaustive commentary may be yet scope for improvement is always there. Suggestions for improvement are welcome and will be given full weight in the next edition. We hope the Book will be found very useful like its previous editions by the Bench and the Bar and every Citizen of India.
