Farm sector plays a crucial role in the economic development of India. Institutional reforms, especially land and credit, figure at the centre of the stage in farm planning. In the post-nationalisation period commercial banks in our country have come to increasingly parti cipate in the process of farm development both by deliberate design and voluntary effort. Commercial bank credit to the farm sector has increased phenomenally.
Evaluative studies relating to the role of commercial banks in farm finance are very limited in number. Area specific studies are of great significance due to vast regional variations in our country. This book attempts to study the role of commercial banks in farm finance in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.
This book will be of immense help to students, teachers, researchers and planners who evince keen interest in Rural Banking and Rural Development.
