Based on the survey of tribal villages in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan
This study describes some key aspects of educational situation in the tribal villages of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. The aspects selected relate to illiteracy, non-enrolment, dropout and stagnation. The focus is on explaining the social context of these educational problems. The study was sponsored by Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. Mr. G.S. Boela and Mr. D.N. Tiwari gave constant support. Mr. P.S.K. Menon and P.K. Mohanty gave encouragment throughout this study.
