Legal Language is not a veil hiding the true contents of the law, like clouds concealing the face of the earth to the eyes of an astronaut. It is an integral part of the legal system. The Bar Council of India has restructured the new three years
and five years LL.B. Curriculum to make it more effective and socially relevant. Under the new syllabus of both the Courses, a paper on "Legal Language and Legal Writing" has been introduced. Further, in Sambalpur University, Orissa at present, in the three years LL.B. Law Course "Legal Language and Legal Writing" is a compulsory paper. But it has been found that the students find this subject a difficult one. In order to solve their difficulty, the present book is put to market. Here the author aims at providing a comprehensive all inclusive textbook on "Legal Language and Legal Writing". In this book the subject gives an elementary knowledge of various branches of law viz. General, Jurisprudence, Constitutional, Contract, Property, Tort Crimes, Civil Procedure Code, etc., apart from introducing a pre-Law student to some fundamentals of Law like Interpretation of statutes, Law Library, Introduction to Legal Writing, Legal maxims and certain legal terms, etc. Thus, it is hoped that this book will prove useful to law students, teachers and. beginners in the legal profession. However, anyone interested in the furtherance of legal knowledge can look up to the books listed in the Bibliography appended to this textbook.
