Summary: Susmit Sen is a pioneer in Indian music. When he founded Indian Ocean in 1990, there were no bands in India doing original music. As the band fell in place over the next few years, Susmit scored music for more than 150 short films. Indian Oceans musical sensibility was led by Susmits compositions and a unique guitar playing that was inspired by Indian classical and folk. By the time he came out with his first solo album in collaboration with some of the most renowned musicians in India (Depths of the Ocean, 2011), Susmit had inspired a generation. Ocean to Ocean is this story in the words of the maestro himself. Warm, intimate and honest, it documents the life and times of a rare musician and composer, as he talks about his philosophy of music, his experiences of and experimentation with various forms of music.
