Summary: Core Support Groups are striving for excellence Under the scheme Science and Technology Application for Rural Development (STARD), selected voluntary organizations with adequate scientific and technical expertise are identified and provided long term programme support with a view to nurture them into centres of excellence in S&T-based rural development. Under this unique programme, these Groups are able to strengthen and retain scientific manpower for extended durations to work at grassroots level and provide innovative solutions through S&T interventions related to different sectors of the rural economy.
