Summary: Banks play an important role in the economic development of the country. This book is a collection of articles and speeches prepared by Mr. V. T. Dehejia while he was Chairman of the State Bank of India during the years 1965 to 1969. The articles and speeches, though writ ten at different times, have a vital bearing on the development of the banking indus try as a whole even after nationalisation of the 14 commercial banks.
