Summary: This book describes the political "personality" of Pakistan. The first two chapters are a description of Pakistan's history and geography-the pertinent qualities of people and territory that have sponsored the present - pattern of politics. In Chapters 3 through 8 the exercise of political control in Pakistan is analyzed. Since Pakistan is a new nation-a nation in which the exercise of such control has been of paramount importance-this part of the book constitutes the major portion of the study. In Chapters 9 through 13 a brief analysis of Pakistan's international impact is made brief because Pakistan's problems have been predominantly internal, not external, and her impact on the international scene has not been great. In short, emphasis is placed upon the outstanding traits of Pakistan's political personality, and these have been summed up in the final chapter.
