Our administrators learn land planning: tackle pollu tion; save the varied animal and plant species; conserve and develop environment and protect it from further degradation in its various forms like soil erosion, desertification, siltation, sedimentation, etc. This book is an attempt to create an awareness about the rich and varied natural heritage of the country among our administrators, planners, economists, sociologists and all the enlightended citizens and to highlight some of the attempts made in this direction to improve the environment thereby to suggest further ways of improving it.
