The book talks of the reservation policy as the sharing of power and not simply as a public policy of the Indian state. Implementation of the reservation policy has brought equilibrium within our society by integrating a fragmented society. But there are some tension areas in this reservation policy which has brought conflicts among various social groups to the surface, both within the backwards, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. It is high time to rectify these flaws so that these fault lines do not burst out into violent activities.
