The process of sustaining entrepreneurship has been understood very lately. The increasing number of closers and growing incidence of sickness has highlighted the importance of sustenance. The sustaining activities refer to all such efforts that facilitate growth and continuity through expansion, modernisation, diversification, technology upgradation etc. of on going healthy enterprises and opportunities for rehabilitation in case of closer and/or sickness. This realisation has resulted into the formation of Small Industry Development Fund (SIDF) in India during 1986. Following this NIESBUD organised a two day Workshop on Sustaining Entrepreneurship at Surajkund, Haryana on 25th-26th September, 1987 to provide a much deeper understanding to identify various aspects of sustaining entrepreneurship. The workshop yielded a total of 20 papers besides the deliberations and recommendations made by several experts from all over the country. The present anthology is the result of collation and editing of various papers related to sustaining entrepreneurship.
This book contains the concept related to sustaining entrepreneurship, the need and use of different diagnostic skills and finally the extension and other support services needed for realising the objective of sustaining entrepreneurship.
