Summary: The Term "crisis", by constant and indiscriminate use, has lost its potency to evoke not merely alarm but even concern from the people. We have spoken so often of crisis in India, in and out of seaon, that to speak of a crisis looming in India today. I am afraid, would not elicit the response it should. However, there is no doubut that today we are pasing through critical and difficult times. No section of society can afford to be complacement. It is a time when we have to seriously take stock of the situation in our country and evolve policies and programmes which would lead us safely out of the morass into which we have been continuously sinking for the last few years.
