Wittgenstein the early philosophy

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: "Atlantic Highlands, N.J."; Humanities Press; 1982Description: 291 pSubject(s): DDC classification:
  • 192 FIN
Summary: Despite the fact that it is nearly half a century since Wittgenstein's Tractatus was first published it remains largely an enigmatic book, ironically honored as much for what we do not understand about it as for what we do. A great deal of work has been done in the attempt to explicate it, but this has not succeeded in clearing up fundamental difficulties. As a consequence some students have ben led to deny that there is any coherent system of thought in the Tractatus, while others have tried to impose various forced interpretations.
