AUTHOR NOTE
This work aims at a critical study of the ideas of Marx and Engels On the nature of the individual and his place in the ideal society
of their dream. It tries to study the needs, desires and drives of the individual as a human person, the question of his individuality and personality-development, and to assess the importance of Marxian ideas on the-e basic questions. I believe that Marx and Engels were not just system-builders but also men of action; the unity of thought and action was one of their cardinal beliefs. They were hopeful that the future Communist Society could be translated into reality by the philosopher-in-action. I have made an attempt to study both, Marx, the philosopher and Marx, the man of action.
