HUMAN-BEINGS have become increasingly aware of similarities and differences in culture, society, language, race and history. These aspects are substantively incorporated in Anthropology which is one of the most diverse of the academic disciplines. What is Anthropology introduces the basic concepts and findings of Anthropology, more particularly Cultural anthropology.
The book contains separate chapters on the core branches of anthropology, development of cultural theo ries and methods, socio-economic and politico-religious domains of culture. Two special chapters are on "Emer ging Sub-fields of Anthropology" and "100 years Anthropology in India.
Several important key-terms (italicized and bold face) in the text are defined, others are noted in Appendix-l. Appendix-Il lists some selected anthropologists with their interest-areas. Carefully selected resource materials, organized by topics, follow each chapter of the book
