The justification and the limit of state interference in the Politico-economic activities of citizens has been a subject of acute controversy. India has chosen the Democratic form of Government having an ideal of Welfare state. For achieving this ideal the country has adopted a policy of mixed economy. It is pertinent to ex amine and assess the consequences of this policy in the interest of Democracy and the growth of a free society.
