The present study deals with the Recognition Policy of the Government of India towards some new Asian States and
Governments." The study is divided into seven chapters. In the first chapter the problem of recognition of States and
Governments in international law has been discussed in order to establish a background to the study. The subsequent five
chapters deal with cases wherein an attempt is made to examine the principles and factors that determined India's
recognition policy. The last chapter is devoted to some concluding observations
