Summary: The Institute's Centre for Urban Studies organized a seminar on Urban Planning and Development Authorities during March 1-2, 1974, in which a number of papers were submitted. These papers, along with the Model Law on Urban Develop ment Authorities, prepared by the Town and Country Planning Organization, Government of India, are now being published for a wider public, in the hope that the contents of these papers would be found useful in understanding the problems. faced by the urban development authorities and also the lines of reforms that could be initiated to make them more effective
