Conference on reaching out of children( 2006. April 4-7 : Mussoorie)

The National Centre for Gender Training, Planning and Research at Lal

Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration is organizing a

workshop on Reaching Out To Ch 'dren" in collaboration with UNICEF

which is focussing on "Women and Child Issues". take this opportunity in

thanking UNICEF for its help in organizing the Conference.

This module is specifically designed with the objective of sensitizing

you to the needs of reaching out to the weaker sections of society; specially

women and children. The empowerment and autonomy of women and the

improvement of their political, social economic and health status are highly

important ends in themselves. The need to reach out to children, the most

vulnerable section of society cannot be undermined for Children are

dependent upon others for their health and well being.

This workshop has been designed to cover the weltare programs in

the sectors of Education, Health and Nutrition, Child Development and Water

and Sanitation. The manual has been prepared with the financial assistance

of UNICEF. The reading material also incorporates some success stories,

which you will find extremely useful. The reading material provided to you

has been selected with a view to assist you in understanding the issue

completely and to ensure that Women and Children are better equipped.
