Summary: The present Registration Act, (Act 16 of 1908) was enacted in 1908 and came into force from 1st January, 1909. The Act was amended from time to time. To summarise, amendments took place in the Registration Act, 1908 by Amending Acts namely, Act No. 4 of 1914, Act No. 15 of 1917, Act No. 38 of 1920, Act No. 13 of 1926, Act No. 2 of 1927, Act No. 10 of 1927, Act No. 15 of 1929, Act No. 21 of 1929, Adaptation Order 1937, Act No. 1 of 1938, Act No. 33 of 1940, Act No. 39 of 1948, Adaptation Order, 1948, Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950, Act No. 3 of 1951, Act No. 17 of 1956, Act No. 45 of 1969, Act No. 20 of 1983 and latest Act No. 48 of 2001. The book in hand has dealt with the procedure thoroughly in simple words so that it may be understood by common man. The salient feature of the book is that each topic is presented with such a proper head note that even a busy lawyer can pin point precisely to the required vital point effortlessly. Case laws of same or similar nature have been grouped together under an appropriate head-note. Table of cases has been given at the beginning of the book and a systematic subject index has been given place at the end of the book.
