Summary: These essays on International Affairs fully maintain the high standard set by earlier, similar publications of the Fabian Society. Although they are a collection of individual contribu tions and do not present to the reader a consistent theme or policy throughout, they cover between them most of the major issues of world affairs today. Their approach is objective and realistic. This is especially to be desired in a field where perhaps more than in any other illusions of one kind or another are apt to persist and ideas are so swiftly outdated by events.
