The Foreign Service Institute established in 1986 at New Delhi, imparts training to officers in the ministry of External Affairs,
FSI has an extensive guest faculty drawn from the academic and research community, the media, public life, industry and
trade, senior serving and retired diplomats and other Government officials. Over the years, FSI has expanded its sphere of
activities and now also provides training to foreign diplomats from more than eighty countries. It also encourages research
and analytical thinking on important issues relating to India's foreign policy.
