Summary: This volume is the outcome of a National Seminar on "Impact of Land Reforms on Agriculture and Rural Development", organised jointly by the Indian Association of Social Science Institutions, New Delhi and the Centre for Agrarian Studies, NIRD, during December 16-18, 1991. The Seminar was attended by a galaxy of eminent scholars, development administrators and policy makers. In view of its topical interest, we thought it appropriate to publish the proceedings along with select papers and recommendations of the Seminar for their wider sharing.
