The main objective of the Centre, therefore, is to help in the promotion, development, and dissemination of knowledge regarding evolution of women's roles in society and trends in social and economic organisation which impinge on their lives and status, with a view to: 1. Enhancing women's effective participation in the development process 2. Assisting in the framing and implementation of measures for realising women's equality; 3. Changing social attitudes regarding women.
