Administrative law has been charact erised as the most outstanding, legal development of the twentieth century. Though the administrative law can be traced to the well organised and centralised administration under the Mauryas and the Guptas, several centuries before the Christ, following through the administrative system of the Mughals to the administration under the East India Company the precursor of the modern administrative system. But it has assumed a recognisable form in the present century and it has come to be identified as a branch of public law by itself, distinct and separate from Constitutional law.
This book has been written in a clear, cogent and comprehensive manner. The relevant principles have been explained and fully discussed and the decisions of the Privy Council/Supreme Court and various High Courts have been explained in the book. The recent developments in the Indian administrative law have been duly incorporated in the book.
