Another theme running through the volume concerns the recent surge in inconsistencies, dissensions and even conflicts in the industrial urban scene in the wake of economic liberalization. The contributors explore the possibilities of working towards the development of a culture of consensus and humanism in modern organizations. Based on extensive fieldwork in different settings, this volume helps to develop a general perspective on urbanization, organization development and social change.
