Summary: The Development Associates are highly appreciative of the selfless efforts and sincere concern of the voluntary agencies for the upliftment of the less cared. It is our experience that most of the NGOs are not well acquainted and equipped with the desired information, resources, expertise, technical know how, etc., to fulfil their vision of actualizing the potentials of the people. The appraoch of the NGOs, deserve more acknolwegement, where local resources (Man, Machine, Material) are optimally utilised, people are empowered to manage their own affairs, linkages are established to sustain the development initiatives. But each of these areas, need lot of care and inputs to bring the desired fruits. This experience motivated us to form a forum of professionals and make the required information/service available to the NGOs especially the new and emerging ones.
