Today tourism has emerged as a domi nant economic force on world horizon. Tour ism industry not only works as the prime foreign exchange earner for countries but it promotes international understanding and sense of brotherhood also. India is full of diverse type of resources scattered in vari ous States. But the State of Haryana-Land of Mahabharata, on which the present book is based, has not much in terms of natural resources. But even then the State finds a place of pride on tourism map of the country. This all could be possible because of innova tive management policies and practices be ing followed by tourism planner of the State consequently making tourism and Haryana as synonymous.
The book in its eight chapters deals with various aspects of tourism industry like plan ning, manpower, marketing, resource poten tial, tourist plant facilities, demand, supply, use pattern of the tourists etc. As a whole different kinds of problem being faced by tourism and the future of the industry in the State has been discussed at length. It is believed that the book will prove beneficial to the academicians, tourism planners, schol ars, tourism students and all those having interest in the tourism industry of the State and the country as a whole.
