Summary: The widespread use of small-scale industrialization as an aid to national development is relatively new, and the results of this approach to industrialisation are only now being realised gradually. India is one of the few developing countries where the development of small-scale industries has succeeded in influencing the direction of industrial development of the country. And, it is hoped , this work will bring home to readers some of the experiences of India , in this field, acquired over the past 37 years as a result of purposeful planning and far sightedness.
