Summary: In India, field based teaching and learning sources and resources are meagre and much is borrowed from Western literature. The field experience of practitioners in the field of family is a valuable indigenous source as well as resource for teaching and learning. The Unit for Family Studies of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences undertook a project of development of case studies on family and intervention by field practitioners for the purpose of using them as teaching and learning aids in the course on family interventions. This project is part of a larger project of development of curriculum on family centred social work education. These case studies may be used in class room teaching as well as in field work. They may help to understand concepts, and analyse family dynamics, the process of eclectic intervention and the changes after intervention. They may also be used for evaluating students' skills in case analysis.
