Summary: Members of police force and Government Servants are expected to accomplish their different task assigned to their written rules and regulations and adhere to the code of conduct laid down by their respective departments. They are supposed to perform their duties faithfully and religiously in the most impartial manner and are not expected to act arbitrarily. Any Government Servant who trans gresses his powers or act against the rules is liable for action either in accordance with the law or depart mentally. Conducting departmental enquiries, enquiring officers are appointed by the punishing/discipli nary authority. In this book every effort has been made to explain the correct proce dure in departmental enquiries under Punjab Police Rules, Delhi Police Act/Delhi Police (Punishment & Appeal) Rules 1981 and Central Civil Service (CCS) Rules, 1965 so that the enquiries are conducted syste matically in accordance with the rules.
