The pace of industrialisation is very slow in the whole of North East India, despite the abundance of mineral, forest, agricultural and allied resources. Several problems relating to sociocultural, economic, topographical, transport, marketing financial etc.are working as barriers of industrialisation.
The existing small scale industries are facing keen competition from outside. The scope of small scale industries development is rather complex.
