These volumes consist of some important papers written by Professor VKRV Rao. These papers reflect Prof. Rao's thinking in the last 15 years or so on contemporary. issues of social and economic changes.
This book contains six sections. The first section is on National Income. It contains three papers relating to growth and structural change, capital formation and future scenario of the country.
The second section is on Planning, Growth and Decentralisation, which contains six papers based on the rich experience of Prof. Rao as a planner and policy maker. The third section is on Economic and Fiscal Policy. Its seven papers throw open a number of burning issues and also suggest policy prescriptions in a scholarly Section four is on Agriculture and Rural Development. It consists six papers dealing with various aspects of agriculture and rural development. The fifth section is on Nutrition and Poverty. Its four papers show the dimensions of poverty and his prescriptions to tackle with it. The last section is on General Economic Issues and Challenges. Its five papers deal with various general economic issues and the challenges before the country. It also deals with the role of social science research and economist's role in the society. These papers will be extremely useful to the teachers and students as well.
