By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: Delhi; B. R. Pub.; 1977Description: 288pSubject(s): DDC classification:
  • 307.7 PAR
Summary: In this book, I have also ventured to cover the Jatapus in transition and their aspirations, as well as the general problems of our tribes in brief and their solution. Since the completion of the draft of this book in early 1975, a revolutionary drive has already been made towards the betterment of the lot of the tribes. The eradication of bonded labour, the liquidation of rural and tribal indebtedness, the rationalisation of agricul tural wages and land holdings and the distribution of land to the landless, the setting up of the Central and State Commit tees to guide the development of tribal areas-these are some of the measures, perhaps never taken before in the history of any nation, in such an ardent and comprehensive fashion.
