India, Philippines and Thailand were the rice-hinterland countries selected for this purpose within our limited time and resources. This volume represent a modest attempt to outline policy areas for further study and elaboration by countries in the Asian regions where the problem of internal migration is a force to be reckoned with in pursuing development strategies.
