This book is an introduction to international politics and as such assumes no prior knowledge of the subject. It looks in turn at state-making, wealth making, and social movements. In that sense it is not only an introduction. It is an extraduction as well. It leads in to the subject. It also leads out

State making and the interstate system an obviously important. There is more to world politics than this, beweer. There is wealth making and the global political economy, and there are accuration games and people's responses to what isational polics means to them. Each aspect relates closely to the others and each has as own philosophical and historical conness that also deserves chose scrutiny
Such a book covers a lot of ground. It makes many trade-offs between breath and depth. To ancher the analytic narative somewhat, and to help show how some of the huse ideas work in praction, there case studies (keyed to the ext) have been included an appendices Effecting such trade offs is no simple mater Hopefully the case studies help in this regard. The balance stuck can only main contos, however, which is the nature of the beast best
