Man and society c.2

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: New York; The Macmillan; 1960Description: 784pSubject(s): DDC classification:
  • 301 MAN
Summary: This book, Man and Society, is based upon an attempted integration of the social sciences. It is conceived as a program of basic studies, which is here interpreted as a building block or foundation course for the beginning college student. As such, it is not primarily concerned with "relevance," though relevance has been considered throughout. Nor is it directly aimed at producing good citizens in the popular sense of the word, though it is hoped that it may improve citizenship. Rather the aim has been to develop in the student some of the attitudes and techniques of the social scientist.
