All the developing nations of the world have one thing in common that is the continuous search for a workable and viable strategy for development to redress the problems of landlessness, poverty, high growth of population, unemployment, rural-urban drift and an unequitable distribution of food and income. To overcome these problems and to face these challenges Develop ment Communication' is only hope and answer. Development Communi cation is 'Communication revolution' that is using communication media and techniques to promote development and achieve desired objectives.
Technological innovation has been a key element in the growth of agrical ture throughout the world. But profes sionals in agricultural development are gradually realising that modern agri cultural science and technology have a certain bias which causes a different impact on development in different re gions and areas. Owing to the growth of the population, the low price for ag ricultural produce, structural changes, nomadic and sedementary agriculture as well as apparent short-term success of introduction of modern technologies and its appeal to study the more pro fessional systems no longer seem to satisfy the needs of the people. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a holistic/integrated approach to combat the problems of agricultural production and productivity and to
find viable solutions. Keeping all these in view the book has been planned to incorporate and focus various aspects and dimensions of development c communication for all round development in agriculture as enced and observed by various and experts from the con cerned fields.
