Summary: The present work relates mainly to the impact of Financial Institutions on the development of the tribal economy. As credit requirements of different religions differ depending upon the stage of development, region-wise analysis of the availability and utili sation of credit is useful for formula ting efficient credit policies. An attempt is made in this study to examine the flow, adequacy and utilisation patterns of credit and to study its impact on input use and income generation in tribal areas.
