This book on Indian Constitutional Law has special features which makes it invaluable for the Bench, Bar, Scholars and Students. The subject is of such magnitude that having just a look at the relevant article may not sometimes resolve a problem. The author has imaginatively distributed the subject and incorporated the latest case law of the Supreme Court and High Courts including all landmark decisions.
This Book critically examines article-wise and topic-wise provisions of the Constitution of India touching all aspects in detail. Every effort has been made by the author to encamp the entire spectrum of the Constitution of India. A full Chapter has been added in this Book dealing with the Sixty-Second and Sixty-Third Amendment Bills, 1989 (relating to Panchayati Raj and Nagarpalika) which ultimately failed. in the Rajya Sabha on the night of October 13, 1989. However, Shri V.P. Singh who became the Prime Minister of India after the General Elections stated that his Government would bring in a fresh Bill to decentralise power without hurting' the federal structure of country.
There was another longstanding need which this Book has fulfilled. Constitutional Laws from the date of the East India Company have been marshalled in a chronological order and this is useful to both lay readers and law students.
This book also contains a brief summary of all the Amendments to the Constitution inclu ding 62nd and 63rd Amendment Bills, 1989, relating to Panchayati Raj and Nagarpalikas.
