Summary: This book highlights some of the more important bio resources of this country, placing due emphasis on a study of the component of the biosphere. The first of the three sections of the book deals with the biosphere in general-its various component energy flow in ecosystems, biogeochemical cycles, population resources and regulation of populations and the basic resources, soil, water and forest. The second section covers the more important terrestrial resources including agricultural and veterinary resources. The wild-life resources and their conservation has been particularly emphasised. The third section deals with aquatic resources. In this edition hydrocarbon plants have been included in the chapter on Bio energy, and two new chapters on eroding natural systems and conservation of resources, and biotechnology and resources augmentation, have been added.
