Rural development at metropolitan fringe

Rural Development and Resource Conservation are thrust areas attracting attention of planners, administrators, politicians and researchers. These are necessary for safe, healthy and efficient living environment of human being. Their importance gets further enhanced in the context of increasing metro politanisation. A research was carried out relating to these aspects and proces ses over a time and the analysis with findings is presented in this book. Though the example given is related to one specific metro fringe village of Delhi but the presentation in book is made in a way that the process is nearly of the same type in all developing countries. The design of resource conserving modules can be easily applied with minor modification to any village of a metro fringe.

The book has three distinct sections: I-Inventory of Resources, II-Alterna tive Land Use Plans; and III-Design, Finance, and Management Modules. Latest concepts of resources, eco-struc ture, and ecological design relating to human settlements are used. Graphics is used to illustrate concepts easily.
