By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: New Delhi; ABS Publication; 1990Description: "Vol. 2 (473)ISBN:
  • 8170720230
Subject(s): DDC classification:
  • 320.9 MAR v.1
Summary: There is no dearth for literature in general or in particular aspects of Indian Polity. But this offering is of a different sort, in its conception, approach and the purpose it seeks to serve. The Polity till now has been projected without any attempt having been made to understand the foundations on which it is based. If only the foundations had been properly comprehended, the polity would not have been what it has come to be. Consequently, and entirely new approach to the under standing of our Polity is warranted. It is the purpose of this Book to look and understand the Polity in this perspective. The author is aware of the fact how difficult it is to persuade acceptance of this "new" perspective used as the clientele are now for over thirty nine years to an erroneous perspective. But this has to be done as otherwise considerable damage would have been done to a polity which we can really feel proud of. The Book also makes a departure from the conventional manner of the treatment of the subject. It seeks to offer something new, something useful and relevant for those desiring to understand and appreciate our Polity. Though not exhaustive, care has been taken to include in the Book important aspects, issues and themes relating to the Polity.
