Summary: Transformation of the rural en vironment is a process to solve the pro blems for the effective involvement of the local human and physical resources to improve the socio-economic and ecological conditions of the areas. Transfor mation planning and suggestion for the proper utilisation of agricultural land and irrigation potentials, provi sion of better health, education, mar keting facilities and development of transport system through service centre concept and adoption of appropriate policy frame work etc. have been visu alized as the effective approaches for the development of the area. The facts and findings have been illustrated by several diagrams.
