Rural environment development and planning

Transformation of the rural en vironment is a process to solve the pro blems for the effective involvement of the local human and physical resources to improve the socio-economic and ecological conditions of the areas. Examining the past development of the study area and removing the loopholes of past development plans the present work suggests for the betterment of the poor rural people.

The present work, an outcome of detailed and intensive study through first hand data collection on village level, will be of immence value to va rious government and other organisa tions engaged in transforming the con ditions of the countryside. Transfor mation planning and suggestion for the proper utilisation of agricultural land and irrigation potentials, provi sion of better health, education, mar keting facilities and development of transport system through service centre concept and adoption of appropriate policy frame work etc. have been visu alized as the effective approaches for the development of the area. The facts and findings have been illustrated by several diagrams.
